1.0 Introduction

In the post COVID-19 recovery, it is important to focus on possible ethical risk in the journey that businesses intensely focus on business recovery after challenging period. The key objective of this studies is to evaluate the potential ethical risks of The Lanka Hospitals Corporation PLC (LHC). Further, this study evaluates the applicability of theories in analyzing the situation and challenges and recommend to overcome the ethical risks.
Lanka Hospitals is one of leading organizations in Sri Lankan private healthcare sector which provides a supreme range of primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare services. Lanka Hospital is located in heart of Colombo including more than 360 beds and employs more than 1900 employees (Lanka Hospital, 2020).

2.0 Potential ethical risks for Lanka Hospitals.

2.1 Issues of mental health and post-traumatic stress disorder of health workers
Healthcare workers had tough time throughout the pandemic due to huge work load, stay away from loved ones, emotional overload by the crisis and many other reasons. Scarcity of resources led frontline healthcare workers had to deal with serious ethical dilemmas when treating to patients (Shapiro, 2021). Further, healthcare workers were forced to stay away from family members and reduce interaction with colleagues throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. All these work related factors and condition could lead to mental health outcomes such as post-traumatic stress, anxiety and depressive symptoms. A research conducted Italy and China during pandemic reveals that healthcare workers were suffered from depression (in 50.3%), anxiety (44.6%) and insomnia (34%) (Gold, 2020).
Therefore, this is a serious ethical risk that Lanka Hospitals possibility faces in post pandemic period which organization need to address proactively. Ensuring the wellbeing of employees is a key responsibility of a company. Furthermore, impact of this risk is very high since it could lead to disrupt the operation and tarnish the organization’s reputation.
